This was Julien Cohen's Christmas gift to the neighborhood. The French pianist and teacher had organized what he calls his "biggest flashmob ever," bringing together 100 musicians to perform an orchestral arrangement of Carol of the Bells for the inauguration of Christmas lights on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, one of Paris's most elegant shopping streets.
What made it work wasn't just the scale. It was the moment—the way the music seemed to arrive as a surprise, the way strangers stopped to listen, the way a child's presence at the center of it all made the whole thing feel less like a performance and more like magic happening in real time.
