Why it matters: This innovative tiny house offers more spacious and comfortable living options, empowering individuals and families to embrace a minimalist lifestyle without sacrificing essential space.

Downsizing to a tiny house can be tough, but the Knoll makes it easier. This towable home offers a spacious layout and lots of storage. It's a good fit for a couple or a small family.

Backcountry Tiny Homes designed the Knoll. It sits on a triple-axle gooseneck trailer. The house is 38 feet long and 10 feet wide. This extra width gives it a more apartment-like feel than most tiny houses. However, you need a permit to tow it on public roads.

The home's outside features a two-tone mix of metal and board and batten siding. It has a metal roof.

Inside the Knoll

The interior walls are painted board and batten. It has natural wood accents and knotty pine ceilings. The flooring is vinyl. Bright colors add life to the space. The model shown includes furniture and belongings, which helps visualize living there.

The living room and kitchen are open and feel very large for a tiny home. The living room has a big L-shaped sofa bed that sleeps two. There's also an entertainment center, a bookshelf, and a storage cabinet.

The kitchen has a stainless steel sink with a pull-down faucet. It includes a colorful fridge/freezer, a microwave nook, an oven, and a four-burner propane cooktop. It features wood veneer counters and plenty of cabinets. A breakfast bar completes the kitchen.

Next to the kitchen is the bathroom. It has an incinerating toilet, which burns waste to ash. The bathroom also includes a shower, a washer/dryer, and a vanity sink.

The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from the living room. It's in the raised part of the trailer. Steps with built-in storage lead to it. The room has enough headroom to stand up. It features a double bed, a small desk, and a chair.

A few more steps from the master bedroom lead to another small loft. This loft sleeps one. Backcountry Tiny Homes added a small sofa bed and storage here.
