Case in point: one dad recently shared the very clear pecking order established by his 3-year-old daughter upon the arrival of her new baby sister. Apparently, Dad was informed, in no uncertain terms, that he was not to touch the infant. Why? Because, and this is crucial, “she’s mine.”
Not only was the baby declared personal property, but the toddler also helpfully clarified the acquisition process: she bought the baby herself, using her mommy’s credit card. Because, naturally, that’s how babies are procured. Her final instruction to Dad? To simply leave them alone. Which, if you think about it, is both impressive and slightly terrifying.
