When a severe storm ripped through St. Louis in April, bringing golf-ball-sized hail and actual tornadoes, a certain ginger tabby found himself in a rather precarious position. Luckily, Stray Rescue of St. Louis swooped in, plucking him from the chaos and giving him a name that would, shall we say, stick.
They dubbed him Steve Templeton, after KMOV’s chief meteorologist, who was apparently omnipresent on every screen at the shelter during the storm. Because if you're going to be rescued from a natural disaster, you might as well get a celebrity name. The feline Steve Templeton, for his part, was just thrilled to be safe and receive some much-needed medical attention.
Turns out, his back leg was beyond repair, necessitating an amputation. A 'tri-pawed' kitty, if you will. After surgery, he made a full recovery in a foster home, no doubt charming everyone with his newfound three-legged swagger.

Start Your News DetoxNow, this resilient orange charmer is officially ready for his forever home. He’s described as sweet, cuddly, and, perhaps most importantly for his burgeoning media career, he doesn't mind wearing a tie. A cat who understands branding. We respect that.
In a delightful twist that only St. Louis could provide, local institution Imo’s Pizza has even offered to cover his adoption fee. So, his new family can welcome him home for free, which is a pretty sweet deal for a cat with a backstory like that. Stray Rescue is currently accepting applications for Steve Templeton’s potential forever family, presumably ones with a good sense of humor and a deep appreciation for local meteorology.
