"When Ryan Reynolds gets excited about something," she noted, "it puts the industry on everyone's radar." She calls it "social currency," which sounds a lot like something you'd hear on a tech startup pitch, but here we are.

Disney fans are already world-class collectors of, well, everything. So, trading cards are a natural fit. Dalal points to nostalgia as the secret sauce.
