Security camera footage recently showed a magnitude 6.8 earthquake shaking Kumamoto General Hospital in Japan. This event happened last month.
Four surgeries were taking place when the quake hit. One video from an operating room showed an abdominal surgery in progress. Medical staff quickly shielded the patient with their bodies. Equipment in the room swayed violently. A nurse also opened a door to make sure there was an escape route.
The hospital reported that all four operations were finished successfully. Kumamoto General Hospital stopped its normal outpatient services after the earthquake on July 28. It started them again on August 5.
