The New York Knicks are heading to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. They swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals, winning Game 4 with a dominant 130-93 victory.
Knicks Dominate the Series
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with 19 points and 14 rebounds in Game 4. OG Anunoby added 17 points. Landry Shamet scored 16 points off the bench, while Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson each contributed 15 points.
The Knicks' postseason run includes an 11-game winning streak. Most of their wins have been by double digits, with an average victory margin of 23.7 points. Towns expressed his excitement, saying he feels special to be part of a team that has brought "hope" back to the Knicks.

New York will face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs in the finals. The Western Conference finals are tied 2-2. The finals will begin on June 3, with the Western Conference champion having home-court advantage.
This marks the Knicks' third finals appearance since their last title in 1973. They previously lost in the finals in 1994 and 1999. Knicks legends Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Patrick Ewing presented the Bob Cousy Trophy to the team.
Coach Brown's Impact
Mike Brown, in his first year as the Knicks' coach, has led the team to the finals. This is his second trip to the finals as a coach, his first being with Cleveland in 2007. The Knicks hired Brown after their previous coach, Tom Thibodeau, led them to the Eastern Conference finals last year.
The Knicks have closed out all three of their playoff series with dominant wins. They beat the Atlanta Hawks by 51 points in the first round and the Philadelphia 76ers by 30 points in the second round.
Jalen Brunson was named the MVP of the series, averaging 25.5 points and 7.8 assists.
Cavaliers' Disappointment
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 31 points in Game 4. This is the first time Cleveland has been swept in a postseason series since the 2018 NBA Finals.
Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson acknowledged the Knicks' strong play, stating, "They're playing better basketball. You got to give them credit. They're on a heater."

Cleveland initially took an 8-2 lead, but New York quickly took control. The Knicks went on a 20-0 run in the first quarter, fueled by strong bench play and three-pointers from Landry Shamet. Shamet made 11 of 12 three-pointers during the series.
The Knicks led by 19 points at halftime and extended their lead to 45 points in the fourth quarter. James Harden, who scored 12 points, expressed frustration with the Cavaliers' missed opportunities, including blowing a 22-point lead in Game 1. He believes Cleveland is the better team but failed to show it in the series.
