Last weekend, 277 dogs made history in Coral Gables, Florida. Chewy hosted a massive dog pool party, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record. The event was a huge success, with dogs splashing and playing in pop-up pools.
A Day of Fun and Records
The Chewy Bark Park transformed into a summer paradise for pups. Besides the record-breaking swim, dogs enjoyed summer games, prizes, photo opportunities, and treat tastings. There was even a claw machine filled with dog toys.
Lisa-Marie Curti, head of brand activations at Chewy, explained that the "Chewy Summer Social" brought pets and their owners together. The goal was to celebrate summer safely and with care. She noted that helping pets stay cool is important, especially in South Florida.

Making a Difference for Shelter Dogs
The event also had a strong community focus. Miami-Dade Animal Services brought adoptable dogs, and the Miami Fire Department offered dog CPR training. Chewy Vet Care provided information on pet health to help owners keep their dogs safe all summer.
Chewy is now donating all the pop-up pools and summer toys from the event to shelters and rescues across Florida. This will give shelter dogs more ways to stay active and engaged during warm weather.

Curti emphasized that extending this care beyond the event was special. Donating toys and pools helps more pets experience comfort and joy while they wait for their forever homes. This aligns with Chewy's mission to support pets and pet parents.

One attendee, Michelle Arean, described the party as a "luxury resort poolside cabana just for the pups." She praised the fresh towels, pupsicles, toys, and treats. Arean added that "dog people truly are the best people to spend a weekend with."
