Times are tough for many families right now. Even retired couples sometimes find themselves back at work to make ends meet. While some stories are heartbreaking, others bring joy.

Brittany Smith ordered DoorDash. When she saw her delivery driver on her Ring Camera, she was surprised. The 78-year-old man, Richard, who dropped off her order, was about to have his life changed.

"Richard delivered Starbucks to my home via DoorDash and it was evident from the video this was a task for him," Brittany wrote on the fundraiser page. "With the help of social media I was able to track down Richard and learned he does DoorDash due to his wife being fired from her job (at no fault of her own) and by the time they pay their monthly expenses plus purchase their medication there is nothing left."

She added, "Let’s help Richard go back into retirement!!"

In just a few days, the fundraiser collected over $800,000.

"I don’t know. It’s just I love this man," Brittany told WSMV.

Brenda and Richard were very thankful for the help. "She’s remarkable. I just can’t believe that someone would be that caring to set this up for us," Brenda said.
