Then, because nothing with Alonso's Chelsea can be simple, Pedro accidentally scored an own goal after the break. Because why not? Just to keep everyone on their toes. But Cole Palmer, clearly not a fan of unnecessary drama, restored the lead in the 74th minute. Pascal Gross scored for Brighton in stoppage time, but by then, the damage was done. Chelsea took the win, 4-3.
