Reese Witherspoon recently dropped a little pearl of wisdom she got from Dolly Parton, and honestly, it’s exactly what you’d expect from the queen of country. Apparently, even Hollywood royalty needs a push from a legend.
Witherspoon, who clearly counts Parton as a friend (as one should), recounted a dinner where she was gearing up to play June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. Dolly, ever the storyteller, started dishing on how June charmed everyone she met in country music. This, Witherspoon said, gave her the green light to fully commit to becoming June. Because if Dolly says June was a charmer, June was a charmer. Parton also told Reese to see herself as a storyteller, which, if you think about it, is pretty much the entire job description.
