One day, 22 locations buzzing with patrons and 800 employees, the next, a collective "poof" into bankruptcy. This happened in the fall of 2025, and everyone pretty much assumed that was that.
Because, let's be honest, how many businesses really come back from a full-on financial collapse? Not many. It's usually the end credits. But Iron Hill, apparently, didn't get the memo.

The Return of the Brew
Turns out, the company's rapid expansion was a bit too rapid, leading to its untimely demise. A classic tale of biting off more than you can chew, but with craft beer and gourmet burgers. However, a new management team, presumably armed with a much better calculator and a more cautious outlook, decided to stage a phoenix-like return.

Matt Gundrum, the Director of brewery operations, who'd been with Iron Hill for two decades before its sudden closure, expressed the general sentiment: they had a good thing, they messed up, and now they know better. Getting the call to return, he said, felt like a fresh start for everyone involved.
Customers, like Linda Boedero in Hershey, are simply thrilled to have their local spot back. Because sometimes, all you want is your favorite brew and a reminder that even in tough times, a good story — and a good meal — can find its way back to the table.
