Even though Reba McEntire and Rex Linn knew each other for more than a decade, it took some time for their romance to blossom. But once the pair got together in 2020, nothing could stop them. Together, they’ve created very happy personal and professional lives, working on NBC’s Happy Place. Reba also stays busy with her music career and working as a coach on the hit TV show The Voice.
The pair recently stopped by The Drew Barrymore Show to dish on living it to the fullest. That included Rex telling a sweet story about the love of his life. Rex Linn Had the Perfect Proposal Planned for Reba McEntire Rex Linn told Drew Barrymore he knew just how he wanted to propose to Reba McEntire. They visited Africa in 2024, and Rex brought the ring along.
“The moment that I found a little area I thought I was good, we had a guide named Mumps, and I came around the corner one evening, and I said, ‘Hey Mumps, I’m thinking about proposing to Reba,'” Rex said “And he kinda looks at me, and I said, ‘But I haven’t found a place.'” Later, Rex pointed out a spot to Mumps that felt right. “But, you know, we were driving back down this road, and over on the left side there was a little body of water down there, there was a pretty meadow, and I was thinking about doing that,” Rex added.
“And he just looks at me and goes, ‘Well, brother, that’s an evening migratory walkway for male leopards. It wouldn’t be a good time.'” Rex Linn and Reba McEntire laughed along with Drew Barrymore and the audience, and he said that was the end. “I thought, ‘Yeah, you know what, I’ll just back off that one,'” Rex joked. Instead, he proposed on Christmas Eve, and it was perfect.
We love these two and can’t wait to see what the future holds. This story’s featured image is by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images.
