Lubricating a bike chain often leads to wasted lube on the ground. The Green Disc+ aims to fix this by applying eco-friendly lube only where it's needed. This means less waste and no mess.
The German company Flectr makes the device. They are also known for the CargoMate front rack and the original Lubri Disc.
How the Green Disc+ Works
The Green Disc+ has a spongey lubricator wheel soaked in lube. This wheel sits between two plastic discs held together by magnets. To use it, you press the wheel against the chain while turning the cranks backward.

To fill the device, you pull the two discs apart and squirt lube onto the wheel. One fill can last for up to 10 chain lubrications. This is a 20% improvement over the older Lubri Disc.
Eco-Friendly Design
The special plant-based lubricant is biodegradable. It is also thinner now, which helps it get deeper into the chain links. The Green Disc+ can also work with other low to medium-viscosity lubes.

The lubricator wheel is also biodegradable and compostable. It is made from natural raw wool fibers. Experts recommend replacing it every 50 to 70 uses.
The Green Disc+ is currently on Kickstarter. A pledge of €23 (about $27) gets you the device with lube. The device alone costs €18 ($21). These prices are 25% off the regular price. Refills for the lubricator wheel cost €8 ($9.25) and will be available online later.
