You go to a birthday party at a reptile center, you expect cake, maybe some lizards, perhaps a slightly aggressive iguana. What you don't expect is to become an impromptu alligator wrestler. But that's precisely what happened to Donnie Wiseman.
He and his wife, Theresa, were at Scales and Tails in Utah, watching a trainer give a demonstration. Everything was going swimmingly until, well, it wasn't. An alligator named Darth Gator apparently decided it was lunchtime and dragged the trainer, by her arm, into its enclosure.

Now, most of us would, understandably, be screaming and fumbling for our phones. Donnie, however, opted for a different approach: he jumped in. Because apparently, that's where we are now. Birthday parties come with optional alligator wrestling.

Start Your News DetoxTheresa, bless her heart, kept filming as Donnie and a few other quick-thinking bystanders, including Todd and Amy Christopher, sprang into action. They wrestled the gator, pinned it down, and managed to free the trainer from its jaws. It was, as you might imagine, a rather intense few moments.
Scales and Tails later issued a heartfelt shoutout to their unexpected heroes, acknowledging that working with creatures that could, you know, eat you, does come with certain occupational hazards. They praised Donnie, Todd, and Amy for their "heroism," noting that most people would have wisely stayed in the designated "not-being-eaten" zone.
Amy Christopher, conveniently, had a nursing background and immediately provided first aid until paramedics arrived. The trainer is now recovering, largely thanks to a group of strangers who decided a birthday party was the perfect setting for a real-life action movie. Which, if you think about it, is both impressive and slightly terrifying.
