The Currumbin tiny house is designed for comfortable full-time living on wheels. It combines a smart layout with useful features. Optional upgrades include an off-grid setup and an outdoor terrace.

Australia's Removed Tiny Homes designed the Currumbin. It sits on a triple-axle trailer and is 7.2 meters (23.7 feet) long. This is smaller than many North American tiny homes, which can be twice as long.

Design and Features

The tiny house has a coated corrugated steel finish with wood accents. An optional exterior upgrade adds a deck, a table and chairs, and a breakfast bar. This significantly expands the living space.

The interior is 25 square meters (270 square feet). It features tongue-and-groove timber and timber flooring. The living room feels bright and open due to a large window and high ceiling. It includes a sofa, a wall-mounted TV, shelving, and a ceiling fan.

The Currumbin's kitchen occupies the center of the home and includes an oven and propane-powered cooktop, a sink, a fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher

The kitchen is in the center of the home. It has an oven, a two-burner propane cooktop, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer, and a sink. A drop-down section extends the counter. A large window opens to the outdoor breakfast bar, making serving easy.

The bathroom is on the opposite side from the living room. It features a glass-enclosed shower, a vanity sink, and a composting toilet. A washer/dryer is also included.

The bedroom is a loft style, accessed by a staircase with storage. It has a double bed, storage, and a skylight. A lowered standing platform in the bedroom offers headroom. This allows owners to stand upright to get dressed, avoiding awkward crawling.

Customization and Pricing

Many upgrades are available for the Currumbin. An off-grid system can be added, including solar panels, batteries, water tanks, and a greywater filtration system. Buyers can choose different interior and exterior materials. The lowered standing loft platform can also be swapped for a standard loft. The house can be made wider for a more apartment-like layout.

The Currumbin starts at AUD 128,990 (about US$91,000). This price does not include delivery, which is available across Australia.
