Hobbyists often need an extra hand when working with a vise. The AxiGlide, a new dual-axis vise, offers a solution by allowing workpieces to be repositioned easily.

VogueMech, a brand from Hong Kong, created the AxiGlide. It has a turntable that spins 360 degrees. This lets users position their work freely. The turntable sits on a 90-degree tilt base. This allows smooth movement from horizontal to vertical, giving precise access from any angle.

Luke Von, the designer, explained that the vise focuses on flexible repositioning and stable support. This helps avoid interruptions in the workflow. He noted that separating the rotation and tilt gives artisans more confidence in their work.

The AxiGlide weighs 4.9 pounds (2.2 kg). Its base measures 5.91 x 3.94 inches (150 x 100 mm), and it stands 5.24 inches (133 mm) tall. It is made from aluminum alloy. The bearings, threaded parts, and brake system are stainless steel for durability.

It comes with a standard pin jaw in 10-mm, 15-mm, and 20-mm lengths. These are good for gripping odd shapes. The system is modular, allowing for quick-swap add-ons for different materials.

AxiGlide can be used in three different modes

Two other jaw types are available. Parallel jaws work for flat surfaces, opening up to 3.1 inches (85 mm). Fractal jaws are for irregular objects, with a maximum opening of 2.5 inches (65 mm). Fractal jaws can be aluminum for hard metals or PEEK panels for delicate parts.

The vise has three spring-loaded switch modes. The makers say a gentle push is all it takes to change modes, making it simple to use.

Three Modes of Operation

Free-spin Mode

A precision spindle in the tilt base allows the vise to rotate or tilt freely. This helps users position their workpiece for the best view, avoiding uncomfortable postures.

Indexed Precision Mode

This mode locks the workpiece at specific angles. A 60-position disc divides the rotation into 6-degree steps. This is useful for angled drilling, off-axis assembly, or fine carving.

Full-lock Mode

This mode provides a solid, fixed position. It is for tasks that need a completely stable hold.

The AxiGlide Vise Standard with Pin Jaw set starts at a $239 pledge. It comes in five colors. Shipping is planned for September if funding and production goals are met. The retail price is expected to be $398.
