A new seven-seater electric SUV, the Škoda Peaq, has been revealed. It is the largest, most luxurious, and high-tech vehicle the company has ever built.
Škoda shared initial details of this new plug-in vehicle. They also took a camouflaged pre-production model for a drive around Italy’s Lake Como.
Key Features of the Peaq
The Peaq is a new flagship for the Czech brand. It focuses on spaciousness, a comfortable ride, and practical touches. This new model is longer than the Kodiaq, measuring 4.5 inches (116 mm) more. It will be available in five- or seven-seat versions.

In the five-seat version, the luggage space is 1,010 liters (35.6 cubic feet). This is 100 liters (3.5 cu ft) more than the Kodiaq. The seven-seater still has 299 liters (10.5 cu ft) of trunk space with the third row up. It also has an extra 37 liters (1.3 cu ft) in the front trunk, or 'frunk.'

Performance and Technology
The Peaq will offer two battery options: 63 kWh and 91 kWh. The smaller battery provides over 286 miles (460 km) per charge. The larger battery aims for over 373 miles (600 km). Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes about 28 minutes.
The top-end dual-motor version has 295 horsepower (220-kW). It can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.7 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 112 mph (180 km/h). Slower single-motor versions will also be available.

Many interior details and prices are still unknown. However, Škoda highlights several new features for the brand. These include wiper blades with built-in washers and a panoramic glass roof with automatic shade control. The Peaq also features flush door handles that pop out electrically.
Other luxury options include massaging and ventilated seats with adjustable leg rests. A 'wellness app' can adjust seats, climate, and lighting for a relaxing feel. Practical additions include a dual wireless charging pad, an electric roller shutter for the cargo area, and a USB port in the rearview mirror for a dashcam.
The Peaq uses the VW Group’s MEB modular electric platform. This platform has been used in many VW, Škoda, Audi, Cupra, and Ford models since 2019.
The Peaq is a strong contender in the growing seven-seater family SUV market. It will compete with rivals like the Peugeot E-5008, Kia EV9, and Hyundai Ioniq 9. New Chinese EVs such as the XPeng G9, NIO EL8, and BYD Tang EV will also be competitors.
