Checking bike tire pressure can be tricky, especially with high-pressure tires that lose air quickly. The Outrider TL Mini offers a solution by sending wireless pressure readings from inside the tire.
This new device is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Outrider Pro. It's designed for tubeless tires and rims.
How the Mini Works
The rectangular Mini fits inside the rim, with your existing Presta valve stem pushed through it. It comes in Road, Gravel, and Mountain models, with widths of 19mm, 21mm, and 30mm respectively.

Start Your News DetoxOnce installed, the Mini automatically measures tire pressure when the bike moves. This data is sent wirelessly via ANT+ to a cycling computer or smartphone. The readings are said to be accurate within ±2%.
Using the Outrider app (available for iOS and Android), riders can set a custom pressure limit up to 125 PSI. If the tire pressure drops below this setting, an alert will appear on their cyclometer or phone. Riders can also check pressure manually by lifting and "bumping" their bike.
Design and Availability
The Mini is narrower than the Pro, making it compatible with more rims and tire inserts. It weighs 3.7 grams in its smallest size. The battery is expected to last 2,000 hours.
The device is also IP68 waterproof, meaning it can be submerged up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for 30 minutes without damage. This protects it from tire sealant.
The Outrider TL Mini is currently featured on Kickstarter. A pledge of $55 USD will get you a set of two units. The planned retail price is $69.
