BYD has unveiled its latest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) crossover, the FCB Ti 9. This new SUV promises an impressive 1,430-mile (2,300-km) combined range. It was officially shown at the Chengdu Auto Show 2026 in China.
Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) is a carmaker under the BYD brand, currently focused on the Chinese market. However, some FCB models have been released in Europe, suggesting the Ti 9 might also become available in Western countries.
Power and Performance
The Ti 9 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 154 hp. This engine works with two electric motors, which together provide a peak power of 536 hp.

When combined with the gas engine, the total range reaches 1,430 miles (2,300 km). BYD states the battery can charge from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes, thanks to its 1,500-kW Flash Charging technology.
The Ti 9 is a large SUV, measuring 207.48 inches (5,270 meters) long and weighing about 2.9 tonnes (6,393 lb). This makes it bigger than other full-size SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7. Its substantial electric range means many owners might use the gasoline engine only for longer trips.
Design and Features
The crossover features blacked-out pillars, a high hood, large fenders, and semi-hidden door handles. It rides on 22-inch wheels with floating center caps, and the front brake calipers are red. The Ti 9 will be available in five, six, or seven-seat configurations.

The front of the vehicle has rectangular, connected headlamps, while the rear features large, vertical taillights. The Ti 9 is rear-wheel drive and includes the DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension system. It also has a LiDAR sensor on top.
Fang Cheng Bao has sold 29,613 units in China, with models under the Formula Leopard, Denza, and BYD names. Domestic sales for the FCB Ti 9 will start later this year. The Ti 7, a similar model, recently launched in the UK. The Ti 9 is expected to follow with a European release next year.
There are two electric motors that offer a combined peak power of 536 hp
While the 192-mile electric range is based on China's CLTC test cycle, which can be optimistic, the overall range claim is still remarkable for a PHEV of this size.
