Your city might not host a World Cup match, but you can still catch a team in action this summer. More than 20 cities across 19 U.S. states will serve as training grounds for national teams. This is separate from the 11 American cities hosting actual games. Of the 48 competing teams, 39 will be based in the U.S.
These base camps are expected to bring in money and help fans feel more involved, according to FIFA. The upcoming World Cup in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will be the largest ever, with more teams and matches. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19. It's the first time the U.S. has hosted since 1994.
FIFA recently announced where each team will train. Here's a breakdown by state.
