Chinese company Zoomlion has revealed five new technologies for heavy machinery. These innovations cover construction, mining, and farming equipment. The company is working to make its heavy machines produce fewer emissions.
New Energy for Heavy Machinery
Zoomlion announced these technologies at its seventh Science and Technology Innovation Conference. The new developments include hybrid power systems and electric-drive systems. They also feature smart controls and patents for powerful hybrid tractors.

One major achievement is what Zoomlion calls the world's largest 300-ton electric-drive hybrid mining truck. The company also developed electric-drive systems for mobile cranes and all-electric systems for combine harvesters.

Expanding Clean Machines
Zoomlion has created a special platform for new-energy technology. This platform develops electric-drive designs, key parts, and control systems for its equipment.

The company now offers about 240 new-energy products. It developed nearly 60 new models in 2025 alone. Its products include battery-electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell machines. They also offer battery-swapping and plug-in charging options.
Zoomlion develops important technologies in-house. These include lithium batteries, electric motors, control systems, and hydrogen fuel cells. This allows the company to provide complete solutions for many industries.
For example, its hybrid wheat harvester uses about 30% less fuel. Its hybrid tractor saves about 8% on fuel thanks to better energy management.

Advancements in Mining and Cranes
The company has also introduced "chassis-by-wire" technology for unmanned mining trucks. This system has a three-level braking system for safety in tough mining conditions. It combines retarder braking, electric braking, and mechanical braking.
Other new technologies include electric-drive systems for mobile cranes and smart controls for large equipment. This shows Zoomlion's focus on making heavy machinery smarter.
Ou Biao, a director at Zoomlion New Energy Technology, said this recognition validates the engineers' work. He noted that developing new-energy products requires many tests in challenging environments. He added that these honors encourage the team to meet customer needs and overcome technical challenges.
Zoomlion plans to keep adding more new-energy equipment. The company will also work with global customers to create machines that fit local needs.
