Jessica Morgan is now the Director of Tate. She was previously the director of the Dia Art Foundation in New York. Morgan takes over from Maria Balshaw, leading the Tate network which includes Tate Modern and Tate Britain.
New Councils and Appointments
The Watermill Center on Long Island has created new Creative and Advisory Councils. These groups will help guide the institution after its founder, Robert Wilson, passed away in 2025. Members include Marina Abramović, Laurie Anderson, and Carrie Mae Weems.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art has a new Head of Costume and Textiles. Ann Marguerite Tartsinis will fill this role. She succeeds Dilys E. Blum, who led the department for 40 years until her death in December 2025.

The FEMME Art Fair will launch in Washington, D.C. The fair runs from August 26–30 at International Square. It will feature over 100 women artists, including the Guerrilla Girls, across 35,000 square feet. Artists keep all sales, as the fair takes no commission.
Major Donation to Vanderbilt
Nvidia founder Jen-Hsun “Jensen” Huang and his wife, Lori Huang, donated $75 million to Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Vanderbilt announced in January that it was buying the campuses of the California College of the Arts. These campuses will reopen next year as the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang College of Art, Architecture and Design.
