Picture this: It's February. You're Lindsey Vonn, Olympic gold medalist, and you've just been airlifted off a ski slope in Milano Cortina with a fracture so severe, and a nasty case of compartment syndrome, that doctors were staring down the very real possibility of losing your leg. Not exactly the kind of highlight reel you're hoping for.
Fast forward to May 4th. The Met Gala, New York City's annual fashion-and-celebrity extravaganza, is in full swing. And who glides onto the red carpet, looking like she just stepped off a runway (and definitely not out of a hospital gown)? Lindsey Vonn, making a comeback that probably had her physical therapist high-fiving the sky.

From Ski Slope to Supermodel Strut
Vonn herself took to Instagram to drop the mic on her recovery. "From a wheelchair 3 months ago to the Met gala," she wrote, which, if you think about it, is both impressive and slightly terrifying in its speed. She gave a shout-out to designer Thom Browne for making her feel "like a princess" and called the whole night "truly magical."

Start Your News DetoxFans, as you might expect, were a little bit floored. Comments poured in, praising everything from her "stunning" dress to her "spirit, beauty and strength." Because apparently, going from a near-leg-loss to high-fashion red carpet in 90 days is what we're calling a Tuesday now.
It's a testament to the kind of grit that wins Olympic medals, only this time, the gold was just getting to walk into a really fancy party. And if that's not inspiration for getting off the couch, what is?
