Canadian company HydroGraph Clean Power is building its first large-scale U.S. graphene factory in Bellville, Texas. This move secures both the land and the acetylene needed to make graphene on a big scale.
HydroGraph will buy acetylene directly from Western International Gas & Cylinders. They have a 10-year deal for a dedicated pipeline. HydroGraph also leased land at Western International’s Bellville site. This means the graphene plant will be right next to its supplier's existing setup.

A New Hub for Graphene Production
This shared location will ensure a steady supply of acetylene. Acetylene is a key material for HydroGraph’s Hyperion Reactors. These reactors turn hydrocarbons into the company’s Fractal Graphene products. This is done through a continuous manufacturing process.

Start Your News DetoxConstruction will start after permits and site preparation are finished. The factory is expected to open in the first half of 2027. The first 40,000-square-foot plant will make up to 360 tons of graphene each year. Over time, it will expand to produce more than 750 tons annually.
Kjirstin Breure, CEO of HydroGraph Clean Power Inc., said these agreements are a big step. They will help meet the demand for ultra-pure graphene from companies and governments worldwide.

Brian Renouf, President of Western International, noted that the partnership combines their acetylene infrastructure with HydroGraph’s technology. This will boost domestic production of advanced materials. He added that the dedicated pipeline and long-term agreement create a strong base for making advanced materials in the U.S. It also uses existing infrastructure for safe and reliable supply.
The Power of Graphene
Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms in a honeycomb shape. It is known for being strong, light, and good at conducting electricity. It's increasingly used in many products. These include composites, coatings, electronics, batteries, and energy storage.
HydroGraph plans to put six Hyperion Reactors at the Bellville site at first. More units will be added as demand grows. Each reactor can make up to 10 tons of graphene per year. They can be built in just a few months. This allows the company to increase production without building entirely new lines.

The company is also setting up three Hyperion Reactors at its Austin headquarters for development. These units should add up to 30 tons of graphene production annually. This is expected to start in September 2026, once acetylene storage construction is done.
HydroGraph says the Texas project is part of a larger effort. The goal is to create a U.S. supply chain for graphene. This is important as demand grows for advanced materials in new manufacturing and energy uses. By placing the factory next to its supplier, HydroGraph expects to cut transport costs, simplify logistics, and improve long-term production reliability.
