Queen Elizabeth II, who departed this mortal coil at a respectable 96 in 2022, is getting a rather grand posthumous birthday bash. The British Royal Family is currently putting the finishing touches on plans to celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday on April 21, 2026. Because, apparently, even after you've reigned for 70 years, a centennial still calls for a party.
And what's a party without a killer outfit? Or, in this case, 300 killer outfits. The royals have already dropped a preview of an upcoming fashion exhibit, aptly titled "Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style." Because if anyone knew how to dress for an occasion (or, you know, just Tuesday), it was her.

Her Life, Her Wardrobe
The exhibit, which opened its very exclusive doors on April 10, 2026, and runs until October 18, 2026, at The King’s Gallery in London, is a sartorial deep-dive into the Queen's wardrobe. We're talking everything from her childhood frocks to her princess-era ensembles, right through to the iconic, brightly-colored outfits she favored during her reign. Apparently, even her casual wear made the cut, which makes one wonder if there’s a royal tracksuit in there somewhere. (Probably not, but a person can dream.)

Start Your News DetoxThe internet, as it tends to do, had thoughts. Many were thrilled at the prospect of seeing her timeless style up close, with one commenter noting that her outfits could still walk a runway today. Others hoped the collection would embark on a global tour, because who wouldn't want to see a monarch's entire closet?
Of course, not everyone was charmed. One particularly sharp-tongued observer scoffed that celebrating her through fashion was "shallow," and didn't quite capture her true character. Which, if you think about it, is a fair point. But also, have you seen those hats? They practically tell a story all on their own.
